What is the PRC Blind Ministry?
Name of Ministry: PRC Ministry of the Blind
Ministry Statement:
The PRC Ministry of the Blind will exist to provide individuals who are blind or visually impaired a
meeting place where they can participate in activities to promote independent living skills, enhance
their creativity and encourage community involvement under the ministry of Pacific Revival Center.
Who is the leader of this ministry?
Darlene Taimanglo, MEd. Teacher of Students who are Visually Impaired or Blind, Orientation & Mobility
Specialist, Vision Rehabilitation Therapist.
Who would be the participants of this ministry?
Individuals who are blind or visually impaired of all ages and their families. Youth who desire to gain
service learning hours, adults who would like to serve and learn how to work with individuals who are
blind or individually impaired.
When and where will meetings take place?
1st and 3rd Thursdays of every month starting March 2020 at PRC CE Building
What are the scriptural foundations the ministry will be based on?
Isaiah 42:16 – "I will bring the blind by a way they did not know; I will lead them in paths they have not
known. I will make darkness light before them, And crooked places straight. These things I will do for
them, And not forsake them."
What are the goals of this new ministry?
To improve the quality of life of individuals who are blind or visually impaired by helping them to
become independent through specialized training.
What needs will be met?
Guam does not have a training center for the blind. People who are blind or visually impaired do not
have any supports on Guam. The PRC Ministry of the Blind will open the door of opportunity to provide
such services.
